Sacking Someone

  1. Do you really need to sack this person?
  2. Have procedures in place and understood.
  3. Have there been warnings?
  4. Hold a meeting.
  5. Make the decision and allow for an appeal.
  6. Be fair at all times.
  7. Don't assume that you are in the right.
  8. Tell the employee his/her rights.
  9. Be aware of protected people.
  10. Recognize grey areas.
